The work is not a routine to be completed. It follows the person receiving it, and the pace can be adjusted at any point. There is conversation before it begins and time to rest before it ends.
How it differs from a conventional massage
A conventional treatment is structured around technique: a sequence of strokes applied to muscle groups, usually within a fixed time. It is effective at what it sets out to do, and it does not require much from your attention.
Tantric bodywork asks for your attention, and gives time back in return. Sessions are longer, quieter and less predictable in shape. The emphasis is on how you are experiencing the work rather than on covering the body methodically.
